U-12
We got off to a flying start in our first game of the new season, a 5-0 win over Gurteen Celtic. Eoin McLoughlin got our first goal after a fine through ball from Cormac Smith. Brian McElgunn made it 2-0 when he intercepted a bad clearance outside the box. McLoughlin then shot to the top right hand corner after a fine cross from Jack Ozdobinski, for his second and Carrick’s third. Dylan Regan made it 4-0 at half time after a fine move involving Oisin Nee and Conor McGoldrick. Carrick made it 5-0 in the second half when Cameron Crossan finished Ozdobinski’s cross to the net after a fine run on the wing by Cormac Smith. This was a great flowing display of football by Carrick who should come up against tougher opposition in their Division, but the same commitment should see them do well. Team: Sean Cox, Donal McCarthy, Cormac O’Rourke, Brian McElgunn, Mark Brehony, Dylan Regan, Cormac Smith, Conor McGoldrick, Eoin McLoughlin, Cameron Crossan, Jack Ozdobinski. Subs – Oisin Nee for Brehony, Ryan Goldrick for McCarthy, Jack Healy for McLoughlin and Caillian Smyth for Regan. Training continues Thursdays 5.45 p.m.
